How cool would it be if you could charge your smartphones by just turning on your radio and let the music play or simply talking to it?

A Revolution in Charging your Smartphones |
A shout out to all the Malaysian Youth out there: What's up guys? Today in technology, we're bringing in a revolutionary way of charging your mobile smartphones, by using sound energy. The innovation was a result of collaboration between Nokia and the Queen Mary University of London.
This is an exciting concept alright; within these few years we have been showed how a phone can be charged by using kinetic energy (movements of your body) and by using sunlight energy, but a way to charge your smartphones by simply using sound energy? It is truly an innovative one: Imagine the possibilities and convenience from this options! So, how does the method works?
Well, through the use of nanotechnology of course, and yes, the application of nanotechnology in our world is not a mere scientific fiction anymore. By using a type of nanotechnology dubbed as "Nanorods", the team are able to harvest energy from sound and convert it into electrical energy from the vibration of the sounds it received.
A prototype of the charger (shown as the dark-reddish thing on the right side of the image above) has been successfully conceived and created by the team which shows promising results. The prototype was able to produce a voltage power of 5 Volt, which is enough to charge a smartphone. More informations about the experiment can be found here.
That being said, the idea of using sound energy to charge your smartphones is not a novel one; the idea of a sound-charging phone was actually first conceived by a Korean Team in 2011, which is 3 years ago.
On the other hand, if the technology do become a reality in the future, I still believe that its going to be a secondary energy resources to charge our smartphones, so don't throw away your smartphones charger yet! Instead, think of it as a way to prolong your smartphone energy lifespan: Simply talk to your friends or blast some music in the room to charge your phone!
Well, what do you guys think of this new technology? Leave us a comment below and lets discuss!
