An important quote from AirAsia group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes after the success of the test flight revealed that AirAsia planned to release this awesome feature for all AirAsia aircraft at the end of this year. Until then, AirAsia will be giving out 60 guests the opportunity to test out the new feature in each flight, as part of the "Free User Test" program for the next 2 months!
Though we believe at the end of this year, AirAsia might not be the only airlines in Malaysia to provide in-flight Wi-Fi service.

A teaser from Malindo Air that says Wi-Fi onboard are Coming Soon

Just hours after the announcement of the successful Wi-Fi in-flight tests report from AirAsia, Malindo Air posted a teaser picture on its Facebook page to show that they will be implementing the service in their aircraft too.

As an overall, it will be a year of improvement for the airlines service in Malaysia and another huge step towards technological advancement, though we from Stedgeport still thinks that Malaysia approachment towards technological advancement is sill at a crawling rate.

Worldwide Airlines that are equipped with In-flight Wi-Fi

In-flight Wi-Fi had been a thing since 2007, with Qantas Airlines being the pioneer of implementing the system, and Malaysia only will have it by the end of this year, which leave us a 7 year gap.

Therefore, it is up to us Malaysian Youth to help the country to build itself in order for us to really achieve the Vision 2020.
